Botox for Migraines

Some time back I saw an ad looking for migraine sufferers to take part in a study. This study was to see how Botox could help ease migraines. I considered, briefly, applying because I often feel like I would do anything to make the pain go away. Then I thought about the fact that Botox is botulism and decided against it. The thought of injecting botulism into my body just seemed wrong to me.

Well, I just read an article saying researchers found that Botox does not help migraines. There was no difference between the Botox and the placebo. Boy, am I glad I didn't sign up for the study!

One thing the study found is that Botox can be helpful for muscle disorders such as cervical dystonia and possibly lower back pain. Of course it is still a popular way to reduce wrinkles as well. I think I'll keep my wrinkles, thank you very much.

So, back to the drawing board, as they say. One day maybe there will be something wonderful to cure migraine disease.
